Rearing Elephant by A Chotka

A lively cold painted bronze figure of a rearing elephant with carved ivory tusks, fine naturalistic colour and good hand finished detail, raised on a rectangular base and signed. Chotka is recorded as working in the Bergman foundry and the quality of his work exemplifies the stringent standards of this workshop.
